Purple heart - Circular purple heart wood pendant necklace - I was in the off cut bin [010-0006]

A handmade wooden pendant necklace using a dark, purple heart wood finished with a hard wax satin polish. It is a circle with an offset hole. The main faces of the pendant are the end grain which is why it is such a deep purple. The side is lighter.

The pendant is approximately 4.4cm diameter and 0.7cm thick. The hole is 2cm diameter.

The necklace is adjustable from around 30 - 80 cm using simple sterling silver crimp ends (the equivalent of sliding knots).

The purple heart wood is an off-cut from Yandles in Somerset. Their wood store is a beautiful sight to behold. All the wood can be traced to the source in managed forests. They have a couple of crates with all the off-cuts which is wonderful to rummage through.
